Medrobotics Flex System

2/21/2018
The Medrobotics Flex System at Lenox Hill Hospital is the only system available in the greater New York region. It uses a sophisticated robotic optical system which provides excellent exposure and view of the surgical area. Surgeons in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital are now using the new, advanced, state-of-the-art Medrobotics Flex System for surgical management of tumors in the upper aerodigestive tract and for sleep apnea.  The Medrobotics Flex System at Lenox Hill Hospital is the only system available in the greater New York region.  It uses a sophisticated robotic optical system which provides excellent exposure and view of the surgical area.  The snake-like telescope which is extremely flexible can reach areas which are hard to see and can provide the surgeons with the ability to “look around the corner”.  The surgical instruments themselves which include grasping, cutting, coagulating, and laser capabilities, are hand-controlled by the surgeon and, therefore, provide excellent tactile feedback.  Our experience with the new system has been a very satisfactory and rewarding one. Click here to watch.
