New York Head & Neck Institute Wins Research Awards at the 2017 Northwell Clinical Research Session

NEW YORK, NY – Researchers from the New York Head and Neck Institute (NYHNI) presented their research at the 2017 Northwell Clinical Research Poster Session at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/ Northwell.

The Northwell Clinical Research Poster Session has grown rapidly from year to year, and the NYHNI research team has played an important role in its growth. This year, the team presented 11 posters, and won third and fourth places out of over seventy presentations on posters entitled “Surgical management of High-Grade, Advanced-Stage Esthesioneuroblastoma: The Lenox Hill Experience” and “Temporalis Flap for Head and Neck Reconstruction: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of the Literature,” respectively. In addition, two of the team’s posters have recently been submitted for publication.

The principal investigators of the posters are Peter Costantino, MD, Executive Director of the NYHNI, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital – Manhattan, Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, as well as John Boockvar, MD, Vice Chair, Department of Neurosurgery.
