This Center, which began in 1994, has been internationally recognized as a leader in evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, education and research in the many disorders that affect voice and swallowing.

Diagnostic Evaluation services include:

  1. Measurements of fundamental frequency, airflow, maximum phonation time

  2. And noise to harmonic ratio

  3. Vocal fold movement evaluation with fiberoptic video laryngoscopy and stroboscopy

  4. Laryngeal, pharyngeal, and oral cavity electromyography

  5. Laryngeal sensory testing

  6. Clinical swallowing evaluation

  7. Modified barium swallow evaluation of swallowing

  8. FESS- functional swallowing evaluation with a fiberscope

  9. Transnasal esophagoscopy

Rehabilitation therapy:

  1. Therapy for hyperfunctional voice disorders and voice building exercise

  2. LSVT (Lee Silverman Vocal Training) for Parkinson’s Disease patients

  3. Therapy for dysarthria

  4. Swallowing therapy

  5. Diet and nutritional counseling

Treatment and Surgical Therapy:

  1. Medical acupuncture for professional voice or “vocal performers”

  2. Botox treatments for spasmodic dysphonia and other laryngeal disorders

  3. Office based surgery of the vocal cords under local anesthesia

  4. Laser laryngeal surgery

  5. Vocal fold augmentation and medialization procedures

  6. Reinnervation for vocal fold paralysis

  7. Endoscopic Laryngeal Cancer Surgery
    - laser and cryosurgery for early stage cancer
    - supracricoid laryngectomy

  8. Surgery for laryngeal papillomas

  9. Laryngeal bypass procedures

  10. Endoscopic surgery for Zenker’s diverticula

Botox therapy for:

  1. TMD (Tempromandibular disorders)

  2. Headache

  3. Cranial Dystonia (including blepharospasm, oromandibular dystonia,
    Meige syndrome, spasmodic dysphonia, and torticollis)

  4. Facial hyperhidrosis and Frey’s syndrome

  5. Facial and Jaw spasticity

  6. Post occipital craniotomy pain

  7. Refractory Trigeminal Neuraligia
