| Dr. Arnold Komisar has been in practice in New York City since 1979. He currently practices Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Komisar attended the Hahnemann Medical College of Philadelphia from which he received the degree Doctor of Medicine. He also received a Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University. Dr. Komisar trained in General Surgery at the Beth Israel Medical Center and in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, both in New York City. Dr. Komisar is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Komisar is the former Director and Associate Director of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Komisar is currently the Director of Head and Neck Endocrine Surgery and a Senior Attending Surgeon at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He is a Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology at the NYU School of Medicine. He is actively involved in the teaching program of the NYU Department of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Komisar is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Head and Neck Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member of the American Thyroid Association and the New York Head and Neck Society.
Dr. Komisar is the author of over 100 papers, book chapters and textbooks. He is a national and international lecturer.
Dr. Komisar is a recipient of the The Mosher Award from the Triological Society, the Honor and Distinguished service Awards from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, teaching awards from Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital and the NYU Department of Otolaryngology.
Doctor Komisar has been listed in Who’s Who in America for over 15 years. He is also been listed in Best Doctors in America, Best Doctors in NY Metro Area, Best Doctors New York Magazine and the SuperDoctors in the New York Times.
